To resounding success the Minister of Small Business Development Ms Khumbudzo Ntshaveni unveiled to media new finance programs which on 14th November 2019 in Katlehong.
The Small Business Innovation Fund known as SBIF and Blended Finance were created as an improved support packages to SMMEs. Both of these programs are managed by sefa.
Attended by more than 200 people at Ekurhuleni West College, Katlehong these programs were created as response to the Minister’s concern about grinding levels of unemployment in South Africa.
The Minister also took media through progress that has been made in supporting SMMEs to get better access to finance including initiatives to make it more accessible and affordable. Key amongst those was :
- Availing of sefa and SEDA services through all incubators and LED units of municiplaities
- Turn Around Time on Application
- • Adoption of the common template for application and;
She said” We are committed as government to ensuring that SMMEs have access to finance as vehicles for economic growth and in the creation of jobs. Both sefa and SEDA working closely will ensure that support and access is accelerated “,said the Minister
